One of the oldest-established restaurants in Turunç, the Can has been welcoming visitors for over 25 years. Original owner Mustafa Can has now retired and his son Orçun continues the family tradition of providing quality meals at this well-known village venue. Unique among Turunç restaurants, the Can stretches from the main street to the promenade, allowing customers to choose whether to watch the busy village life or enjoy the more tranquil bay views.
The Can is open from April to October and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfasts offer traditional Turkish or English food as well as omelettes and a choice of egg styles. The beach outside the restaurant is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing and light lunches and snacks are always available - choose from a range of sandwiches, pide, pastas and pizzas.
The Can has an extensive and reasonably-priced dinner menu offering international and more typical Turkish cuisine. It is well-known for excellent steaks served in a variety of styles. Turkish kebaps, casseroles and pasta dishes also feature on the menu. The Can is famous for its two-person fish platter - sea bass or bream, served with mussels, shrimps, prawns, calamari and flat fish accompanied by salad androast potatoes) and served with local lavaş ("puffy") bread from the restaurant's wood-burning oven. For younger diners, the Can also offers a good choice of children's meals.
Owner Orçun Can and his team will be delighted to welcome you to this charming family restaurant at any time of the day and help you enjoy your visit to Turunç.
